Happy Birthday Sam - Part II

For the second part of Sam's birthday, we spent a bunch of time with the Talley family. We camped in the backyard because the weather in the mountains was going to be terribly miserable. We even had roasted hot dogs on the fire and ate s'mores.
The next day we drove up to Park City and stayed in a condo for 2 nights. We celebrated with Sammy, and she was happy to share her cupcake with everyone around her again. She didn't hesitate to jump right in and get her hands messy with the frosting and cake.
On our final day in Park City we went to the Main Street Market. The most interesting thing there ended up being the hoola hoops. Ashlyn, Gabrie, Luke, Darcy, Kiley, and Grandma were all incredibly talented in the hip swaying activity.

Top of Utah 1/2 Marathon

Stef ran 1:20.14 for the Top of Utah 1/2 Marathon this morning. It was good enough for 1st place (and $200). It also locks up a top 2 finish for her in the Utah Road Racing Circuit for 2009. I'm a proud husband (and coach).
She is going to be running the St. George Marathon on October 3rd. It will be her first marathon. Great job on all your hard work this year, Stef. Love ya.

Happy Birthday Samantha - part 1

Although Sammy's 1st birthday is not until Saturday (08/08), we had our first party on Monday with the Hansens--she shared the birthday party with Grandma Hansen. We started with some swimming, then we went to the park, and then we had some sunshine cake. Sam was more interested in feeding everyone else, but eventually realized how fun it was to spread the cake all over her face (she had some help from Grandpa Steve on that one). Some of the cake ended up in her mouth. Happy Birthday Samantha!
